Electric Marshmallow Productions, a Detroit Area, Production Company, Just Launched Its New Website
The company hopes to make primarily television in and around Southeast Michigan.

Detroit, Michigan – Electric Marshmallow Productions hopes to bring work and jobs to the southeast Michigan film community. The company, founded by Michigan resident Ashtyn Law, has been developing television for the past few years and is now looking to find funding to produce several shows. The shows run the gamut of genres from sci-fi to comedy. There's something for pretty much everyone.

Law works with her collaborative partner, director Dom Evans, who has a film degree in production and also is an expert on representation. The duo have released three papers/studies on the state of disability representation on television through their media monitoring group, FilmDis.

The website features information on the creators and will soon have details on upcoming projects. Two projects, The Park and Space Pirates are slated for development hopefully in the coming year.


The Park is a slice of life drama about a family living in a Midwest trailer park in the 1980s. The lead characters are a blind grandmother in her late 30s named Gina and her neighbor across the way, Crystal, the Indigenous resident who runs the park daycare, who is also the community weed dealer.

Space Pirates follows Eleria "El" Siderian, a Deaf queer space pirate who must put together a ragtag group to investigate a deadly space attack that leads to their fight for survival. There are actors attached to Space Pirates.

Potential investors and producers can email the company, and gain access to a table reading of Space Pirates, featuring some well-known faces, as well as the individual Pitch Decks for both shows.

"We've spent years developing these shows and we are now at the phase where we are ready to get them made! Hopefully we can do so in Michigan," said Evans, who is excited to get rolling on this.
